"TILLY"
To commence my story I will introduce myself;  I was born July the 21st 1866 in Upsala, Sweden.  My father's name was Johan Mathiason and my mother's name was Christina Sophia Abrahamson.  My grandfather was Mathias Anderson and my father's mother was Stina Larson.  My mother's father was Abraham Anderson and her mother's name was Caroline Soderquist.  I was christened at 6 weeks of age.  I had two godfathers and two godmothers.  Their names were Mr. and Mrs Nilson and Mr. and Mrs. Stromberg.

I began school when I was seven years old, and graduated when I was 14.  I was baptized into the "Mormon" church June 14, 1880 in Upsala Sweden in a little stream about two miles from the city.  I was baptized and confirmed by Brother Bylund from Utah.  I spent a happy girlhood in Sweden.  When I was seventeen years old I immigrated to Utah (1883).  I left home June 7 and came to Ogden, Utah the 8th of July.  I worked in Ogden 4 years and 14 months.  My parents and brothers and sisters came to Ogden in August 1884.  (Note by a granddaughter -- Grandma came over here alone and worked and saved enough money for the rest of the family to come, and she even provided a place for them to live and had everything ready when they arrived.)

I will tell a little about the journey from Sweden.  I left my home June the 7th.  We left by boat from Stockholm on the 9th of June for England.  I went by Steamboat to Copenhagen.  There I got on another steamer that took us across the North Sea, which was awful rough, the waves going over the ship.  At times the passengers had to go to the cabins.  Then we arrived in Hull, England.  From there we went through the most beautiful country and through many tunnels until we came to Liverpool.  From there we went on the liner to New York City.  The night before we reached there a fire started in the coal room;  the fog was so heavy it was almost impossible to see anything.  The fire was put out but it started again and there was a little excitement but it was put out again.  We came to New York one morning and left there the next day on the train for Utah.

I worked at the Broom Hotel in Ogden on 21st Street until I met Frank Gustav Lundquist.  We were married the first day of December 1887 by Thomas D. Judge of Ogden, Utah.  I was sealed to my husband on the 14th day of May 1924 in the Logan Temple.  I came to La Belle, Idaho on the 6th of December 1887.

I have eight living children and two sons dead.  I have 36 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  My divine lineage, previous training, honorable parentage and blessings I pass on to my posterity.  The prize I am seeking is Eternal Life.
