Grand Father Henry Peterson, Son of Pehr Henriksson and Bereta Hansson
was born the 27 Mar 1813 at Weirstov, Malmohus Sweden. Their family
consisted
of three boys and three girls, Lina, Per, Henrik, Anders, Kerstina [1],
Kerstina [2]. Henrik or Henry was the only one that joined the church.
He grew to manhood in his native land. He was a Miller by trade. He
married
Bengta Nielsson abt 1843 or 1844. to this union was born six children.
Three boy and three girls, Andrew Henry, Olaf, Kerstina No 1 Kerstina
no
2, Annie and John. Kerstina no 1 and Annie died in their youth. Henry
Peterson
joined the church 20 Mar 1856 and his wife and their children all join
the church in their native land. They emmigrated to Utah in 1859. They
crossed the plains with a hand cart company under very trying
conditions.
They lived at Lehi for a short time. Grandmother Bengta Nielson died a
short time after they entered the Salt Lake Valley. The hardships of
crossing
the plains was to much for her. Grandfather Peterson married another
woman
by the name of Mary Ann Griffinanch [written above this is Rirfenacht]
about 1861 or 62 to this union was born three boys and three girls,
Caroline,
Louise Sophie[1], Berta Mathilda,
Henry [ middle name unreadable], Joseph,
and Alma Alexander. Grand father Henry Peterson moved to Logan Utah in
1861 or 1862. He ran a flour mill at the mouth of the Logan Canyon. He
moved to Bear Lake Idaho about 1867, where he engaged in stock raising.
The first winter in Bear Lake they lived on boiled wheat, they had no
way
to grind it. They lived in a dugout. He was sealed to both of his wives
in The Endowment house at Salt Lake City [in] 1867. Henry Peterson and
family moved from Bear Lake to Lander Wyoming abt 1877 where he engaged
in ranching and stock raising. He died at Lander the 18 Mar 1881. There
was only one of his second family that belonged to the church, Louise
Sophie,
she married Chris Olson[2] and died at
Iona Idaho.

March 1883 in Paris, Idaho.
